Matthew C. Jones is Senior Counsel at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is part of the Dallas and Houston offices. He is a member of the Commercial Litigation/D&O, Construction & Design Law, Healthcare, Professional Liability/E&O and Tort & Catastrophic Loss practice sections. He is also active in many interdisciplinary teams at FMG. Mr. Jones is a graduate of FMG’s Trial Academy.
Prior to FMG, Mr. Jones practiced as an attorney for a healthcare technology company, where he served as a trusted legal advisor to C-suite officers at a nationwide network of more than 100 hospital and medical facilities. He was directly responsible for maximizing collection from his clients’ largest debtors, evaluating contractual risks, reviewing voluminous case files and holding payors accountable for compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines. He delivered an 80-percent CMS win-rate at overturning payor denials and negotiated more than $62 million in settlements on his client’s behalf in 4 years. Mr. Jones also previously worked as an associate using advanced legal technology to perform document review in a case involving hundreds of thousands of financial and accounting documents. He also practiced law as an associate in a local insurance defense and transportation law firm.
Mr. Jones earned his J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law and a B.S. in Political Science from Kansas State University.
