Overview

Megan Ritenour is a Partner at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP located in the Phoenix office and actively practices in Arizona and New Mexico. She serves as Co-Chair of the national Property Insurance Coverage practice team and Vice-Chair of the Western Coverage practice team. Megan is a member of the Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith, Data Privacy & Security, and Commercial Litigation practice sections. She is also actively involved in FMG’s interdisciplinary teams focused on coverage and cyber risk. With more than 20 years of litigation experience, Megan’s practice centers on complex insurance coverage analysis and litigation, insurance defense and cyber-related coverage matters. Her work spans trial, appellate and international arbitration forums and she is recognized for her strategic approach to resolving high-stakes disputes.

Megan represents carriers in matters involving first-party commercial property claims, third party liability claims, agent and broker liability, bad faith allegations, builder’s risk, equipment breakdown, extended coverage issues, reinsurance conflicts and professional negligence. Her litigation experience includes breach of contract and bad faith actions, large loss commercial subrogation, product liability, construction law and premises liability. She is known for her collaborative client relationships and her ability to navigate complex coverage issues with precision and clarity.

She has contributed to thought leadership in the insurance coverage space through speaking engagements and published work. Megan earned her law degree with distinction and continues to be a trusted advisor to insurers facing emerging risks in general liability, property, and cyber coverage.
