Nerizza Miyamoto is a Senior Counsel in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Tampa office. Ms. Miyamoto’s practice focuses on Tort & Catastrophic Loss, Insurance coverage, and Construction & Design practice areas. Nerizza is admitted to practice law in Florida and Illinois. She received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from University of Alaska, Anchorage and her law degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law.
Prior to joining the firm, Nerizza represented carriers in insurance and general liability defense, including personal injury defense, nursing home defense, premises liability, negligent security, and automobile and trucking liability. Before that, she represented local and regional employers and national insurers in workers’ compensation defense. After graduating from law school, Nerizza served as an Assistant Regional Counsel at the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel handling dependency, criminal, and juvenile delinquency cases. Nerizza also served as an Assistant State Attorney for the 10th Judicial Circuit where she represented the State of Florida in misdemeanor criminal prosecutions and the Florida Department of Revenue in Child Support enforcement matters. During her time as a defense attorney and prosecutor, she has tried over 70 non-jury and 15 jury trials.
