Nicholas Jajko is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Philadelphia office and is Co-Chair of the firm's Data Security, Privacy & Technology national practice section. Mr. Jajko is an experienced litigator who practices in the areas of information privacy, data incident response, and technology transactions. He counsels clients on the legal implications of their data, before, during, and after a data privacy incident. Mr. Jajko assists clients with digesting the impact of investigation findings, understanding their statutory and contractual obligations, and satisfying those obligations – including by public notification and regulatory reporting. Mr. Jajko also prepares clients for compliance with state & federal data security regulations and acts as counsel in defense of state, federal, class action and multidistrict litigation arising from data breach events. Mr. Jajko formerly litigated healthcare negligence matters in local state and federal courts, twice defending his clients’ rights as appellees successfully to the point of denial of certification by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. He has written and presented on the attorney-client privilege and work product protection as it applies to pre-litigation incident response.
Mr. Jajko serves as Co-Chair to the firm’s Data Security, Privacy & Technology practice section and is part of the Professional Liability/E&O Liability practice section. He holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and is a member of the IAPP Privacy Bar Section.
Mr. Jajko was recognized as a Rising Star in Technology Transactions in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 by Super Lawyers Magazine for Pennsylvania and Delaware.
