
Rachael Slimmon is an Associate at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is located in the Atlanta office. She is a member of the Firm’s Government Law and Insurance Coverage & Extra-Contractual Liability practice sections. Rachael represents insurance carriers in liability and bad faith claims, and defends cities, counties, and government employees in general liability and civil rights matters. Her practice includes insurance coverage analysis and litigation, including declaratory judgment actions.
Rachael brings a strong litigation background to her work, having previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Georgia’s Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit. She is known for her thorough legal analysis and courtroom advocacy, and she approaches each case with a focus on strategic resolution and client responsiveness.
Rachael earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she served as an Articles Editor for the Georgia Law Review, competed on the mock trial team, and worked as a research assistant to Professor Rodney Smolla. Rachael is admitted to practice in Georgia, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., and was recognized in the 2024–2026 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America™
