Rachael Slimmon is an associate in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP's Atlanta office. As part of the firm's government law section, Ms. Slimmon defends cities, counties, law enforcement officers, and other governmental individuals in civil rights and general liability matters. Ms. Slimmon's professional liability practice includes the defense of attorneys and other professionals.
In addition, Ms. Slimmon represents insurance professionals and insurance companies in various liability and bad faith claims in and out of the courtroom.
Ms. Slimmon's practice also includes insurance coverage analysis and litigation, including declaratory judgment actions.
Before joining Freeman Mathis & Gary, Ms. Slimmon worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Georgia’s Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit.
Ms. Slimmon earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Politics at the University of Virginia. Ms. Slimmon then received her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law, cum laude. During law school, Ms. Slimmon served as an Articles Editor for the Georgia Law Review and as a research assistant to Professor Rodney Smolla. She also competed as a member of the school’s mock trial team.
