Overview

Sharon C. Collier is a Partner and Office Co-Chair of Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP’s Walnut Creek, CA office. She is the Chair of the  On Trial Advocacy/Trial On-Call Practice Team. She will try any civil case to a jury, anywhere, anytime, against anyone.

Trial practice is often described as an art – requiring classical training, talent and skill, carefully honed by years of courtroom experience. Ms. Collier has that expertise. She is a formidable trial attorney who takes a practical, thorough, and creative approach to successfully resolve her client’s disputes at trial.

Ms. Collier is board certified in Civil Trial Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (“NBTA”) and is an Associate Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”). She serves on the Board of Directors for the NBTA. She also serves as an officer in the San Francisco Chapter of ABOTA and chairs the chapter’s Civility Matters committee.

Specializing in taking tough cases to trial, Ms. Collier has successfully tried many significant cases to verdict, including claims in the areas of unfair competition, intellectual property, breach of contract, fraud, discrimination, employment, sexual assault, and personal injury. She is frequently hired to take over cases from other law firms on the eve of trial. She is a quick study, adept at learning complex and diverse subjects, to persuasively present her client’s story to the jury.

Ms. Collier handles disputes ranging from breach of contract, fraud, discrimination, unfair competition, employment, to intellectual property rights. Anything that goes to a civil jury, she can try. She has represented small business, public international conglomerates, as well as public entities. She frequently represents clients in insurance litigation cases involving catastrophic personal injury claims. She has effectively handled a wide variety of personal injury cases concerning motor vehicle and trucking accidents, work-related injuries, construction site injuries, premises liability, product defect claims, and food borne illness. Her skillful and thorough trial preparation often develops crucial evidence which leads to early and decisive settlement.
