Overview

Teresa Carver is Senior Counsel in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP's Dallas office. She is a member of the Insurance Coverage & Extra-Contractual Liability and Professional Liability/Errors & Omissions Practice Sections. She is also a member of the Midwest Coverage Interdisciplinary Team. She focuses her practice on preparing coverage opinions and handling coverage and bad faith claims for personal lines and commercial lines policies.

Ms. Carver represents insurers in coverage and bad faith disputes involving personal and commercial automobile policies, homeowners' policies, commercial general liability policies, employer's liability policies and umbrella policies. She has represented numerous insurers in residential and commercial claims arising out of Hurricane Ike and various hail and windstorms throughout the state of Texas. Additionally, she has reviewed purported Stowers demands for several insurers and assisted with responses thereto.

Ms. Carver has served as a speaker at several seminars and authored or co-authored papers on topics including the Stowers doctrine, first-party issues, the duty to defend, reservation of rights letters, premises liability and property and casualty coverage.
