Overview

Timothy R. Gilbert is an Associate at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is located in the Nashville office. He is a member of the Firm’s Construction Law and Professional Liability practice sections. Mr. Gilbert’s practice includes handling construction and design defect matters, professional liability defense and personal injury defense. He is known for his meticulous attention to detail and strategic approach to litigation, supported by a strong foundation in legal research, writing and trial practice.

Mr. Gilbert represents individuals and businesses across a range of industries. He began his legal career as a law clerk in Howard County, Maryland, where he gained exposure to diverse legal matters and honed his research and writing skills. He later served as a Staff Attorney in the Office of Court Counsel for Florida’s Sixth Judicial Circuit, followed by several years as an Assistant State Attorney. In that role, he tried cases ranging from misdemeanors to first-degree felonies, gaining extensive courtroom experience. Mr. Gilbert then transitioned to civil defense at a Florida-based firm, where he represented major corporations in litigation throughout the state.

Mr. Gilbert earned his law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
