California businesses are experiencing an unprecedented rise in ICE enforcement. As well, with the impending termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for citizens of EL Salvador and Honduras, California businesses are understandably concerned about what the future holds for employees from these countries who soon will no longer be eligible for TPS work permits.
Please join us on April 13th as we will discuss the recent enactment of the California Values Act and identify several measures employers should take in order to properly maintain their I-9 files and respond effectively to ICE enforcement measures.

Ms. Whitehead is a partner with the firm and practices in the Sacramento office of Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP. Ms. Whitehead has successfully litigated numerous cases in California’s state and federal courts and various administrative agencies, in a wide variety of general liability and employment matters, including wrongful termination, wage and hour, FEHA claims, and EEOC claims. Ms. Whitehead advises and counsels employers concerning their workplace policies, practices, and personnel decisions.
Mr. Levine is a partner with the firm and practices in the Atlanta office at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP. Mr. Levine focuses his practice on U.S. immigration and nationality law, and international immigration matters. Mr. Levine provides representation in obtaining business and professional visas, student visas, labor certifications, immigrant visas, consular representation, naturalization, derivative citizenship and naturalization disability waivers.
Ms. Deal is a partner with the firm and practices in the Atlanta office at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP. Ms. Deal focuses her practice on U.S. immigration and Nationality Law, and international immigration matters.
