Overview

Michael Pipa is an Associate at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is located in the Philadelphia office. He is part of the Appellate Advocacy, Commercial Litigation/D&O, Professional Liability/E&O and Tort & Catastrophic Loss practice sections.

Michael’s practice focuses in the areas of torts and catastrophic loss, professional liability, appellate advocacy and commercial litigation. Having been a primary or contributing author of several majority, concurring and dissenting opinions, and having written briefs for every state court in Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit, clients rely on his research and writing skills to help deliver positive results. Michael has served as a judicial law clerk for Chief Justice Thomas G. Saylor of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and as a judicial law clerk for Justice P. Kevin Brobson of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. In addition, he gained significant courtroom experience while working as an associate at a mid-sized civil litigation firm and while serving as a public defender.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Penn State Dickinson School of Law. During law school, Michael was a summer law clerk for Judge John E. Jones III of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and served as an articles editor for the Dickinson Law Review. Michael completed his undergraduate education at Gettysburg College, earning a B.A. in Philosophy.
