Tim Kenna is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Los Angeles office, Vice Chair of the firm’s Insurance and Bad Faith Practice Section and head of the Section’s California team. Mr. Kenna has over 40 years of experience representing counter parties in complex insurance, reinsurance, fidelity, surety, insurance professional, commercial, title, escrow and construction disputes including the defense of bad faith and other direct suits against insurers.
Mr. Kenna began his career in securities litigation and corporate takeovers. He then practiced in excess, surplus lines, reinsurance and fidelity and surety, where he defended claims against professionals and high-risk enterprises including commercial auto, auto dealerships, contractors and manufacturers and litigated coverage disputes in personal lines, commercial general liability, specialty, life, health and disability, property, fidelity and surety and reinsurance.
Mr. Kenna is an Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates with over 100 bench and jury trials and private arbitrations of construction and reinsurance claims. Mr. Kenna is a Certified Specialist in Appellate Law with numerous appellate decisions.
He has spoken at local, regional and national conferences and written extensively about insurance, fidelity and surety, insurance professional liability, litigation and reinsurance. He has been awarded the Martindale-Hubbell's Preeminent AV® rating, and has been selected a Southern California Super Lawyer in insurance by Los Angeles Magazine since 2009.
