Andrea Burke is a Partner at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is located in the Boston office. She is a member of the Professional Liability/E&O and Labor & Employment Law practice sections. In her labor and employment practice, Ms. Burke represents individuals, businesses and organizations in disputes involving discrimination, harassment and retaliation, including matters before administrative agencies. She also provides counseling on various aspects of the employment relationship, including hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations and workplace investigations. In her professional liability practice, Ms. Burke represents attorneys, law firms and other professionals in malpractice claims and before administrative agencies. Her approach includes a thorough analysis of the client’s business objectives to achieve the best possible result, whether through settlement, motion practice or trial.
Before joining FMG, Ms. Burke represented individuals and businesses in professional liability, product liability, employment and premises liability claims, as well as in administrative proceedings. She also specialized in medical malpractice defense, representing medical providers and institutions. In addition, she served as associate general counsel for the largest anesthesia practice in Massachusetts, where she provided risk management and litigation oversight and served as both the privacy officer and interim secretary to the board of directors.
Ms. Burke began her career as an assistant district attorney in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, where she tried numerous cases to verdict and developed her skills as a courtroom litigator.
