Overview

Cara M. Wright is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Columbus, Ohio and Tampa, Florida offices. Cara has had the privilege of representing clients in a diverse array of cases throughout Ohio and Florida and is a member of the firm’s Government, Employment, Professional Liability, Healthcare, and Tort Practice Sections.

Cara has successfully defended political subdivisions in a variety of cases, including §1983 cases involving the use of deadly force, in-custody suicides, claims related to medical care provided to inmates, and wrongful arrests. Cara has also represented public and private employers in a multitude of claims, including those arising under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the FMLA, the Ohio Civil Rights Act, and the Florida Civil Rights Act. Ms. Wright has significant experience handling cases involving wrongful death, catastrophic injuries, premises liability, and dram-shop claims brought against business owners, bars, and restaurants. Cara has also had the privilege to represent professionals, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, behavioral health specialists, accountants, and attorneys in claims of professional negligence. Cara has also focused her practice on appellate advocacy, handling appeals before Ohio and Florida state appellate courts and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

In her “free” time, you can find Cara chasing after her four kids, cheering at youth baseball games and gymnastics meets.
