George Revis Lewis is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP's Kansas City office. He is a member of the Appellate Advocacy and Tort & Catastrophic Loss practice areas and a member of the Transportation, Homeowners Association, and Sexual Misconduct & Human Trafficking interdisciplinary teams. He focuses on complex litigation and insurance coverage matters, including multi-party disputes, high-value claims and strategic litigation planning across multiple jurisdictions while coordinating with stakeholders to implement effective defense approaches. Additionally, Mr. Lewis is an accomplished appellate advocate and has argued and briefed cases from the Supreme Court of the United States to the states of Missouri and Kansas and many federal courts in-between. Mr. Lewis has previously worked as an officer in the United States Navy, Judge Advocate Generals' Corp, the White House Counsel's Office, an associate at Graves Garrett Greim, and a partner at Franke Schultz & Mullen.
Mr. Lewis represents large corporations, businesses, insurers and corporate clients across industries including healthcare, finance, manufacturing and transportation. He frequently advises senior management and in-house counsel on risk assessment, dispute resolution and strategic planning, often coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to achieve effective results.
Mr. Lewis is a member of the Johnson County Bar Association and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. He has delivered presentations on emerging insurance coverage and regulatory issues for regional legal audiences, and presentations comparing state versus federal legal in-house counsel roles. He is also involved Military Matters, supporting pro bono legal services for military veterans.
