Joseph P. Kreoll is Senior Counsel at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is located in the Newark and New York offices. Mr. Kreoll is a member of the firm’s Construction, Insurance Coverage, Labor & Employment Law and Tort & Catastrophic Loss practice sections. He focuses his practice on general liability, insurance defense and tort litigation, including premises liability, motor vehicle and transportation law, product liability and employment matters. He is also a part of the firm's Aging Services & Long-Term Care, Life Sciences, Retail, Hospitality & Beverage, Media, Transportation, Aviation, Products Liability and Class Actions.
Mr. Kreoll is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the District of New Jersey and the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He received his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law, where he served as articles editor for the Valparaiso University Law Review and worked as a research assistant to Professor Alfred Meyer. After graduation, he clerked for the Honorable William R. Albrecht, J.S.C., in Warren County, New Jersey.
Before joining Freeman Mathis & Gary, Mr. Kreoll worked in private practice, primarily as an insurance defense attorney. He has litigated and tried cases in state and federal courts and has handled arbitrations and mediations in various forums, including FINRA. He has also represented parties on appeal before the New Jersey Appellate Division and Supreme Court.
