Overview

Kingshuk Roy is a Partner and Office Co-Chair of Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Chicago office. He maintains a national practice in construction litigation, transportation, and catastrophic loss. Over the course of his career, King has successfully taken numerous cases to verdict and is often asked by clients to take over the defense of high-exposure cases late in the game, including at the time of trial.

He has won defense verdicts in some of the most difficult venues in the nation. This includes a jury verdict on behalf of a transportation company involved in a triple-fatality loss where the plaintiffs demanded $25 million in damages. In another successful trial, the jury found for his client, a construction company, where a union ironworker asked for $16.5 million in damages for neurologic and psychological injuries.

King specializes in managing cases with difficult facts and issues. After assuming the defense weeks before trial, he secured a verdict in which the jury awarded the exact amount requested by the defendant during closing argument.

King presents and writes frequently on Illinois civil procedure and trial practice. He has held an AV rating with Martindale Hubbell for over a decade and is regularly recognized by his peers as an Illinois Super Lawyer.
