Laura Free is an Associate at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is located in the Seal Beach office. She is a member of the Appellate Advocacy and Tort & Catastrophic Loss National Practice Sections. She defends regional, national and international retailers, insurance companies and transportation carriers in high-exposure personal injury and wrongful death, premises liability and products liability matters in California state and federal courts.
Laura has worked alongside several of California’s leading trial and appellate attorneys. Her litigation successes include serving as second chair in a $68 million premises liability case that resulted in a complete defense verdict, securing multiple client dismissals through anti-SLAPP and summary judgment motions and negotiating favorable settlements.
She earned her J.D. from Southwestern Law School in 2016, where she served as Chair of the Board of Governors of the Moot Court Honors Program and participated in the Appellate Litigation Clinic, briefing and arguing a pro bono immigration case before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She continues to mentor students as a coach for Southwestern’s Moot Court Honors Program. She received her B.A. in political science from the University of California, San Diego.
