Maggie Kartsonis is an Associate at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is located in the Newark office. She is a member of the Firm’s Labor & Employment Law, Tort & Catastrophic Loss and Construction & Design Law practice sections.
Prior to joining FMG, Ms. Kartsonis served in several litigation-minded externship roles. While in law school, Ms. Kartsonis worked at both a well-regarded plaintiff-side law firm in New York City, as well as the chambers of New York State Supreme Court Judge Richard Montelione, where she worked in a variety of practice areas, including labor law, negligence, premises liability and sexual assault and harassment. During her final year of law school, Ms. Kartsonis also prosecuted federal misdemeanor offenses on behalf of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York in her role as a clinical intern.
Ms. Kartsonis has also received several awards for her skills in trial advocacy. In 2024, she was awarded the Northeast Regional title in the American Association for Justice Student Trial Advocacy Competition and the Judge Doris A. Thompson & Judge Edward Thompson Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. Ms. Kartsonis was also a Finalist in the American Bar Association’s Annual Labor & Employment Trial Advocacy Competition, as well as the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice Criminal Trial Advocacy Competition.
