Overview

Megan Ortiz is an Associate in Freeman Mathis & Gary's Downtown Los Angeles office. Ms. Ortiz’s practice includes all aspects of civil litigation with a primary focus on tort and catastrophic loss, labor and employment, professional liability, and cyber and data privacy.

Ms. Ortiz earned her J.D. from Western State College of Law in 2018 where she received a Business Law Practice Certificate with distinction. During her time at Western State, she also served as the Business Editor of the Western State Law Review and was awarded the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Business Law Ethics.

Prior to joining FMG, Ms. Ortiz’s practice included the defense of claims involving transportation and trucking, medical negligence, and wage and hour disputes. Ms. Ortiz also has experience working at a firm specializing in business litigation and liquor license law. During this time, she gained valuable experience working with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control as well as areas such as land use and real estate, administrative law, and premises liability. Additionally, Ms. Ortiz worked as a legal intern at the Orange County District Attorney’s Office within the T.A.R.G.E.T. Gang Unit. Outside of the legal field, Ms. Ortiz also has significant experience working as an entertainment travel agent.

In her spare time, Ms. Ortiz enjoys baking, painting, and traveling.
