Overview

Neil Vermani is an Associate in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP’s Downtown Los Angeles office. His practice focuses on tort and catastrophic loss litigation and labor and employment matters, representing insurance carriers and their insureds in tort cases and employers in labor and employment disputes.

Mr. Vermani has notable litigation experience, including presenting oral argument before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, where he obtained a reversal of a district court’s Rule 12(b)(6) dismissal of his client’s age and disability discrimination claims. He has also served as second chair in a partnership dispute before the California Superior Court and assisted in mediations, including achieving a favorable settlement in a matter with multi-million-dollar potential exposure.

While in law school, Mr. Vermani was awarded a Pro Bono Achievement Award and engaged in a variety of pro bono matters, including immigration cases for the Office of U.S. Congressman Lou Correa, as well as housing, social security and disability benefits, and family law matters. He also received the Dean’s Award in recognition of academic excellence in his Current Issues in Antitrust course.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Vermani served as a frontline healthcare worker during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

  • Parker v. Driscoll, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit (9th Cir.); Case No. 23-35510; Obtained partial reversal in favor of my client James Parker, with the Court holding that the District Court’s 12(b)(6) dismissal of Mr. Parker’s federal age and disability claims was improper
