Overview

Zachary Weigel is an Associate in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Columbus office. He practices in the labor and employment section, where he has defended clients in cases involving wrongful discharge; race, gender, age, sexual orientation, and disability discrimination; and racial and sexual harassment. He has represented public and private employers in a variety of claims, including those arising under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Mr. Weigel’s professional liability practice includes representing real estate agents, title companies, accountants, attorneys and architects.

Mr. Weigel has represented local governments (specifically cities, villages, townships and counties) and private individuals relative to particular provisions of the Ohio Revised Code, the Ohio Constitution and Sunshine Law compliance. He has experience in drafting and interpreting nuisance and zoning ordinances. Mr. Weigel has also represented Ohio's political subdivision in cases involving civil rights and government liability.

Before joining FMG, he practiced at a small firm that specialized in representing injured workers in both administrative and litigation process.

Mr. Weigel attended Ashland University where he was a member of the Ashbrook Scholars Program and received a degree in History and Political Science. After graduation he worked for a number of different companies in the area of Inventory Control where he rose to a management position. He decided to return to school and attended Capital University Law School.
