Matthew Jones is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary's Los Angeles office. Mr. Jones' experience has been dedicated to the areas of Commercial Litigation/Directors & Officers, Tort and Catastrophic Loss, Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith, and Labor and Employment. Specifically, Mr. Jones has extensive experience in insurance coverage analysis and litigation, bad faith and extra-contractual claims, contract disputes, real property and title claims, wage and hour claims, premises liability, products liability, and automobile liability.

Mr. Jones is also a member of the firm’s National Transportation Practice Team. He has the experience and necessary skills to assist and advise health care professionals, as well as represent networks and organizations throughout litigation defense in the complex state and federal settings including issues involving fiduciary obligations, oversight, provider selection and training, compliance, credentialing, reimbursement, and conflict resolution among providers and senior management. He has represented employers, insurance carriers, third party administrators, and private and public entities.

Mr. Jones has handled various matters during all aspects of litigation, whether drafting insurance coverage opinions related to complex insurance matters, drafting Motions for Summary Judgment, or engaging in trial. He also has experience handling and facilitating corporate transactions, business formations, and financing for various types of entities depending on the client’s needs. Further, Mr. Jones protects his clients’ entities by developing and enforcing trade specific non-compete clauses and successfully implementing cease and desist demands.

Mr. Jones serves as an active member of the American Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, and Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.

While in law school, Mr. Jones served as the Senior Production Editor of the law review, as well as a writing tutor for other students. He received the First Honors Award for highest grade in the class in Law of Sales and International Trade.
