Kevin Kenneally is a Partner and Office Chair in Freeman Mathis & Gary's Boston office. He brings over 25 years of local and national experience in professional liability defense, products liability, class actions, mass torts, and multi-district and complex litigation. He has a demonstrated track record of success in high stakes litigation, mediation and claims management. Mr. Kenneally has been repeatedly recognized as one of Massachusetts outstanding defense trial and business lawyers, including selection by his peers as “Lawyer of the Year” in Mass Torts and Class Actions, by Best Lawyers in America© and is recognized in Super Lawyers©.

Mr. Kenneally represents lawyers, medical professionals, clinicians and other health care professionals as well as industrial and medical equipment manufacturers in personal injury and class action matters. A significant portion of Mr. Kenneally’s practice is devoted to health care law, involving the representation of individual care providers, health care and nursing facilities, and group practices. He handles claims involving physicians, mental health professionals, nurses and allied health professionals. He has tried cases involving consumer and industrial products as well as medical instruments and devices. He advises insurers and monitors claims and coverage in matters across the U.S. Mr. Kenneally represents clients involved in pharma products liability and qui tam controversies. He handles complex litigation matters involving employment issues, directors and officer’s (D&O) liability, corporate fraud and internal investigations and litigation, partnership disputes, pharmaceutical and medical device claims and other areas of professional liability.

Mr. Kenneally also is regularly retained by private and public corporations to monitor or defend an array of high exposure cases including construction site accidents, fire, gas and chemical explosion cases, transportation, mass torts and product liability claims. He serves as national coordinating counsel for products liability and exposure claims for a major European production equipment manufacturer and a U.S.-based Fortune 500 corporation. He also serves as monitoring counsel for professional healthcare and professional liability claims for specialty program insurance underwritten in the London insurance market. His D&O practice includes a variety of contract and business tort suits under G.L. ch. 93A/unfair business practices disputes, False Claims Act, shareholder derivative suits, breach of fiduciary duty claims, restrictive covenant, trade secret and confidential business information suits and business law and partnership disputes. He represents businesses in federal and state courts in Massachusetts and has been admitted pro hac vice in jurisdictions throughout the United States. He has handled commercial arbitrations under AAA, ICDR, and NASD rules.

He has been recognized twice in recent years as “Lawyer of the Year” in the area of Class Actions/Mass Tort Litigation by Best Lawyers in America©. He also has been recognized by Best Lawyers© in multiple practice areas: including Products Liability Litigation, Class Actions/Mass Tort Litigation and Personal Injury Litigation. He has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer in the area of Business Litigation for over 15 consecutive years, and is rated AV® Preeminent™ by the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings system.

He has lectured throughout the country on trial tactics, litigation strategies and a variety of other topics. He is an editor of Traps for the Unwary, now in its 6th Edition, the attorney risk management publication of the Massachusetts Bar Association. He served as a Trustee of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation and is a Life Fellow and a Louis D. Brandeis Fellow of the Foundation.
