Amy Hansell is a Partner at Freeman Mathis & Gary's Philadelphia office and is Vice-Chair of the firm's Northeast Tort practice team. A litigator with nearly 20 years of experience, Amy specializes in civil litigation representing retailers and manufacturers in New Jersey’s state and federal courts. Her tenacious pursuit of discovery and commitment to thorough investigations have resulted in her winning summary judgment and defense verdicts for her clients on numerous occasions.
Amy’s areas of practice include business and commercial litigation, premises and product liability, and general tort defense. Her litigation experience includes jury trials, appeals, arbitrations, and mediations. Her clients include retail convenience stores, hotels, daycare centers, restaurants, and commercial products manufacturers. She has defended clients in cases alleging liability due to violations of the New Jersey Dram Shop Act, employment discrimination, negligent security, and for a variety of injuries, illnesses, and diseases. She has also worked on cases alleging injuries arising from exposure to a variety of substances including hormone replacement therapy. Her business litigation experience includes representing clients in disputes alleging breach of contract, construction defects, and consumer fraud.
Amy received her law degree from the College of William and Mary where she was a Graduate Research Fellow. Prior to joining the firm, she was a law clerk to Resident Judge T. Henley Graves in Sussex County, Delaware. Outside of work, Amy enjoys touring local wineries and breweries, scuba diving, and cheering on Philadelphia’s sports teams alongside her husband and two daughters.
