

Ben Dunlap is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Boston office and Vice-Chair of the firm’s National Appellate Advocacy practice section. He focuses his practice on complex civil litigation. Mr. Dunlap represents design and construction firms, lawyers, accountants, insurance companies, and other businesses in a wide variety of matters, including professional liability claims, commercial disputes, data privacy and security, and insurance coverage matters.
Mr. Dunlap is an experienced litigator who represents clients in court, administrative proceedings and appeals, arbitration, and mediation. He devotes a significant portion of his practice to the defense of claims against information technology professionals, attorneys, accountants, and other professionals. Mr. Dunlap also advises clients on contract negotiations, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Mr. Dunlap has experience in data privacy matters and litigation arising from data security incidents, including data breach class actions and commercial disputes. He defends businesses and organizations in privacy litigation, including single-plaintiff and class action matters, as well as enforcement actions by government agencies. Mr. Dunlap represents managed service providers and other technology firms in litigation matters.
In his insurance coverage practice, Mr. Dunlap advises insurance companies in a wide range of matters, including cases involving commercial liability policies, professional liability policies, and commercial and homeowners property policies.
