Catherine Carson-Freymann is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP's Tampa office. She is an accomplished trial lawyer with a broad based practice handing claims in federal and state court throughout Florida. She routinely is hired to handle high exposure matters including business disputes, directors and officers claims, class action matters, catastrophic injuries, professional liability, employment disputes, community association disputes, construction and design law, and bad faith and extra contractual liability matters.
Mr. Carson-Freymann’s commercial and employment litigation practice focuses on litigation of intellectual property claims (trade secret, trademark, copyright), commercial contracts, RICO, executive terminations, discrimination claims, unfair business practice, and trade libel and false advertising, as well as claims brought against individual owners, directors, and officers for alleged breach of fiduciary duty, and the alleged improper usurping of business opportunities.
As a veteran trial lawyer, she is called upon by the firm’s clients to defend catastrophic injury claims, whether they arise from sexual torts, transportation, real property, or assault and battery circumstances. She serves as Vice-Chair of the firm’s Southeast Tort practice team and Vice-Chair of the firm's Southeast Coverage practice team. Her professional liability practice includes the defense of homeowner associations, insurance agents, real estate professionals, and escrow offices with respect to real estate transactions, as well as professional geotechnical and structural engineers and contractors named in construction defect litigation involving multiple types of residential and commercial construction.
Mr. Carson-Freymann also counsels and defends clients in complex insurance coverage and bad faith claims involving E&O, D&O, fidelity, EPLI, automobile/UIM, residential and commercial property, cyber, and CGL policies. She also provides comprehensive insurance coverage and litigation counsel to regional, national, and global insurers.
Prior to practicing law, Ms. Carson-Freymann was a television reporter and anchor and is frequently asked to provide legal commentary on national stories.
