
Geoffrey F. Calderaro is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Atlanta office. Mr. Calderaro’s practice focuses on the defense of claims in the areas of tort and catastrophic loss, as well as appellate advocacy and insurance coverage and extra-contractual liability in Georgia, Mississippi and Alabama. Mr. Calderaro works diligently to obtain the best possible resolution for his clients. Clients appreciate the focus and attention to detail he provides to resolving every matter as well as his ability to address potential issues which could arise in the future.
Mr. Calderaro’s Tort and Catastrophic Loss practice includes defense of claims involving premises liability, transportation, construction accidents and negligent security. He has significant experience with premises liability claims including negligent security, involving a wide range of premises owners and occupiers. In the transportation area, he has litigated cases involving personal and commercial vehicles, including trucking claims.
In Mr. Calderaro’s appellate advocacy practice, he has handled appeals in the Georgia Supreme Court, Georgia Court of Appeals, Mississippi Supreme Court and Mississippi Court of Appeals. In addition, he has assisted in appellate matters before the Eleventh and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeals.
Mr. Calderaro received his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi School of Law in May 2014 and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management summa cum laude from the University of Georgia, Terry College of Business in May 2011. While in law school, he served as associate articles editor of the Mississippi Law Journal. He earned outstanding student awards for Property Law, Criminal Law, Legal Profession and Employment Discrimination. Mr. Calderaro authored “Promoting Democracy While Preserving Federalism: The Electoral College, The National Popular Vote, and the Federal District Popular Vote Allocation Alternative,” 82 Miss. L.J. Supra 287 (2013) for the Mississippi Law Journal.
His professional affiliations include serving as president of the Oxford Area Young Lawyers Association, an affiliate of the Young Lawyers Division of the Mississippi Bar, and the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association Liaison Officer to the University of Mississippi School of Law. Currently, Mr. Calderaro is a member of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association and the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association.
