
John Badagliacca is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP's Newark office. He is Vice-Chair of the firm's Aviation practice team and Vice-Chair of the Northeast Tort practice team. His practice includes the defense of insured clients in the transportation and aviation industries, including the representation of airlines and airport authorities. He also represents clients in various employment-related matters, pursuant to EPL policies, including in the defense of discrimination claims and whistleblower claims. In that context, he has participated in New Jersey LAD age discrimination and CEPA whistleblower trials that resulted in defense verdicts. Furthermore, he has handled LPL, E&O, and D&O matters on behalf of the insured defendants.
In addition to Mr. Badagliacca's experience in civil defense litigation, he has served as a court-appointed attorney on behalf of alleged incapacitated individuals in guardianship proceedings and as a guardian ad litem on behalf of minors in various probate matters.
As a member of the Seton Hall Law Review, Mr. Badagliacca published a comment on academic tenure’s substantive protections in institutions of higher learning.

After graduating law school, Mr. Badagliacca clerked for the Honorable Robert P. Contillo, P.J.Ch. in Bergen County. In that capacity, he was responsible for managing the General Equity and Probate motion calendars and assisting the judge on all emergent matters, trust and estate matters and matters seeking equitable relief.
