FMG Grows to Over 100 Attorneys in California

7/23/24

Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP, is pleased to announce that with its latest additions, the firm now has over 100 attorneys in California. The firm has seven offices strategically located throughout the Golden State, making California its single largest state market.

FMG has experienced dramatic growth in California over the last ten years by addressing current client needs through new hires, mergers, and lateral additions to broaden the firm’s capabilities and depth. FMG opened its first California office in 2013 with four attorneys in San Francisco, led by Julie Marquis. In 2017, the firm significantly expanded its footprint with the addition of Chad Weaver and his ten-lawyer financial services firm in Los Angeles. Later that year, FMG merged with Gilbert, Kelly, Crowley & Jennett law firm, a venerable and highly respected firm over 75 years old. This addition brought another 20 attorneys, led by Paul Bigley and David Molinari, and added offices in San Diego and Sacramento. In 2020, FMG opened its Walnut Creek office with the addition of an on-call Trial Team led by Sharon Collier and Nandor Krause. Today, the firm offers the full range of all its 13 national practice sections and 35 intersectional practice teams throughout the state.

FMG Managing Partner Ben Mathis said, “This is an important milestone to recognize and celebrate as FMG crosses the 100-attorney threshold in California and it’s a testament to the outstanding lawyers we have at the firm. The demand for legal services by our clients continues to be very strong. We anticipate continued growth in California and are currently looking to expand every office in the State. This dynamic legal market is a cornerstone of our national growth strategy as we move into additional markets and continue to expand our exceptional team of lawyers and staff in California and in our newer Western offices in Seattle, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Albuquerque.”
