
Jennifer Markowski is a Partner in the firm's Boston and Providence offices. She is Chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Law national practice section and serves on the Firm’s Executive Committee.
Jennifer is a nationally recognized labor and employment trial attorney with a distinguished record of representing employers and executives in complex workplace disputes. Over the course of her career, she has successfully defended Fortune 500 companies, mid-sized businesses, and nonprofit organizations in high-stakes cases involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, whistleblower claims, wage and hour actions, and restrictive covenant enforcement.
Known for her strategic approach and courtroom skill, Jennifer has successfully defended clients in jury trials and arbitrations and has argued before state and federal appellate courts on precedent-setting issues. She also has represented employers in multi-party and class cases involving race, sex and age claims by individuals and government agencies
In addition to her trial practice, Jennifer regularly represents clients before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and state fair employment and labor agencies.
Clients turn to Jennifer for her trial readiness but equally for her preventative approach. She works with employers to develop effective compliance programs, deliver workforce training, and design forward-looking policies that reduce litigation risk while supporting organizational culture and performance. She is also frequently called upon to guide clients through sensitive workplace crises, including executive misconduct and high profile departures. Her ability to provide clear, strategic counsel under pressure has made her a go-to advisor for companies navigating reputational and financial risk in the employment arena.
In the area of professional liability, Jennifer represents lawyers and law firms as well as accountants, brokers, appraisers, architects and engineers, and other professionals in malpractice and disciplinary cases.
When she's not in the courtroom, Jennifer is passionate about mentoring the next generation of trial lawyers and is a sought-after speaker on a wide range of topics related to her practice. Her trial philosophy is rooted in the belief that every client deserves an advocate who not only understands the law, but also the business, the people, and the story behind each case. Outside of work, Jennifer thrives in the outdoors and cherishes time with her family. She enjoys running, practicing yoga, and taking ski trips that blend adventure with quality family time.
